Chef Kono Akao

Owner and Chef Kono Akao learned the art of food in his home country of Japan and thereafter spent three months in France as a culinary exchange student. He found that he loved preparing classical French/European cuisine and still considers French cuisine his specialty.


A chef for more than 20 years between Maui and Japan, Kono is well known for his delicious fusion of Japanese and European cuisines. His menu at Kono's on the green reflects his love for food and his ability to cook.
